Lowering the brake pedal …

By |2021-03-17T07:20:50+01:00March 17th, 2021|SWM 600 SuperDual T|

The brake pedal was positioned much too high after I lowered the footrests, so I had to lift my right boot off the footrest to reach the brake pedal.

It was possible to lower the pedals engagement point at the brake master cylinder, but the excentric adjuster could not be adjusted enough for the brake pedals new and lower rest position.

Problem solved by drilling and tapping a 4mm bolt into the brake pedal 🙂

SW-Motech holders for water bottle and fuel canister …

The SW-Motech brackets for carrying your water bottle and extra fuel is a great piece of kit, because there is only a small bracket permanently installed on your pannier, when you dont want/need to carry the additional weight.

They are not really made for the Givi Trekker panniers, but can be fitted with the help of a few extra bolts and spacers.

I’m mostly riding solo, so I prefer to have the brackets installed on the front side of the panniers for the best weight distribution. But the Givi panniers are the same for the left and right side, so if I need to carry a passenger, I can just swap the panniers to the opposite side – and then the brackets and the canisters are on the rear side, and then there is room for the passengers legs 🙂

Trimming the right hand side heat shield …

The heat shield is too long, and makes it necessary to twist your right foot (heel out) when you ride the bike.

This is not ideal for long term comfort, so I cut the front of the heat shield off.

I’ll probably have to wrap a part of the header pipe to prevent it from melting my pants.
