 Passion and Curiosity !

JENS LYCK

What’s it all about ?

Did the ”Passion and Curiosity” quote make you stop for a second and wonder what this site is about ?

Motorcyclelife.eu is documenting my motorcycle trips across most of Europe as well as modifications and improvements on my bikes.

It’s my hope that the content on the site will inspire other people to visit new places on their motorcycle – it’s such a great way to travel.

Motorcycles are all about passion, and the urge to travel and explore new places is caused by curiosity – So the quote describes the contents of the site in just two words.

You have now been warned about what is ahead – enjoy the site 🙂

Family ride …

Afternoon trip across 7 islands with my wife and daughter ☀️

Spring ride …

Nice warm weather today, but the water from the recent heavy rain showers takes several days to drain away.

New tires …

For the Honda NT1100

Pirelli Angel GTII is still my favorite road tyre 👍🏍️

GPS bracket …

It was not particular easy to make a proper bracket for the Garmin Zumo XT on the Honda NT1100, and it took some serious dismantling of the bike to connect the power supply to the bikes harness.

The Apple Carplay feature on the NT1100 is nice, but for me it is not a substitute for a real GPS system.

It was worth the hard work and I’m very pleased with the result.

New wheel bearings …

The old front wheel bearings was starting to rumble, so new bearings (front and rear) was installed today.

Custom made ear plugs …

3D printed and with a special filter to cancel out wind noise frequencies.

It is still a couple of months before the weather permits motorcycle riding again, but I’m definitely looking forward to test the new ear plugs 👍🏍️

Throttle holder …

I do not need a fancy electronic cruise control, but on long transport stretches, it is nice to be able to lock the throttle and relax the right hand grip.

I tried a lot of different solutions (home made devices, bought products, modified products) and most of them failed to be perfect, because they could not apply sufficient friction to avoid the throttle from closing slowly.

Long story short: Go Cruise 2 is the only one that works perfectly out of the box – the rest of them are now in the dust bin.

It just shows how much hidden engineering it takes to make simple solutions brilliant 🏆
