The old military pass and the 500 meter tunnel at the ridge have been on my bucket list for years.

It have no military or traffic related significance, so the gravel road to the 2643 meter pass height have not been maintained for many years.

The ascent from the south side was signed as “blocked” but I managed to get pass a few road dozers in 2100 meters height that was improving 500 meters of the road (this part of the road also leads into a valley with sheep grassing, so it is used by local farmers.

The “new” stretch of road was so soft that the rear wheel immediately digged in and I had to push/carry the bike through the soft uncompressed gravel.
